Supporting Jazz-insipired Musicians to Build Sustainable Careers

Beyond The Mix
A Career Development Programme Designed for Impact
Beyond the Mix is a career development programme for emerging, jazz-inspired musicians from racially minoritised and/or working-class backgrounds, helping them build sustainable careers through skills, knowledge, and networks.
Focused on London and the North West, it supports those at risk of leaving the industry due to financial pressures. UK Music data (2020–2024) shows slowing growth in workforce diversity, especially among mid-career musicians.
Co-designed with musicians and industry partners, and supported by the BRIT Trust, the programme launches in Autumn 2026.
Who It’s For
For Artists Ready to Build Sustainable Careers
Early - mid career, jazz-inspired artists (18+)
We work with early to mid career jazz-inspired artists, aged 18 and over, who are shaping their sound and building their presence in the industry.
Based in London, Greater Manchester or North West cities
We support artists based in London, Greater Manchester and neighbouring North West cities, connecting local scenes to wider industry pathways.
Global Majority and/or lower socio-economic backgrounds
We prioritise artists from Global Majority and lower socio-economic backgrounds, recognising the structural barriers that often limit access to opportunity.
